Bishop Steven Biegler, who is the bishop of Cheyenne, visited our community on May 5. This was the feast of St. Angelus, the great Carmelite martyr. Bishop brought with him a group who were able to tour our monastery’s enclosure during his official visit. With him were the Vicar General of the diocese, Fr. Carl Gallinger, and the Chancellor, Jean Chrostoski. They were all in the area for the celebration of Confirmations in Cody. We are very grateful for their time here.

Bishop had the opportunity to meet our new postulants and novices. The monks were able to give Bishop a tour of the monastery and the continued construction progress. We enjoyed showing them the various buildings where we live our strict horarium, such as our Chapter House, Refectory and hermitages. It was the first beautiful day we have had in the midst of some late season snow storms.

The monks also enjoyed sharing a latte with our Chancellor who is an avid coffee drinker. We were pleased to get her full approval of our special espresso.
